LeeRoy and Cathy Scheel started Scheel Water Pump Service in 1968 in Comal County. After working in the water well industry for 29 years, LeeRoy sold the company to his niece and nephew, Korri and Jimmy Stevens, in 1997.

The Story of Stevens Drilling & Water Well Service
At Stevens Drilling & Water Well Service, family isn’t just part of our story—it is our story. What began as a small, one-man operation has grown into a thriving, full-service water well company, built on the values of hard work, integrity, and dedication to serving our community.
Our journey started in 1968 with Scheel Water Pump Service, founded by LeeRoy and Cathy Scheel. Nearly three decades later, Leeroy sold the business to his niece and nephew, Korri and Jimmy Stevens. They ran the entire operation from their home in La Vernia, Texas.
Once their two sons, Kaden & Kody, were old enough to turn pipe wrenches, they were Jimmy’s right hand men & started working part time with their father during the summer and winter breaks. The company remained a “mom and pop” operation until November of 2013.
After years of training alongside their father, Kody & Kaden were ready to take Stevens Drilling & Water Well Service to the next step. With a strong foundation and a passion for excellence, they expanded the business from a local well service into a trusted name across South Texas.
Today, Stevens Drilling remains a true family affair, with the next generation stepping in to continue our commitment to quality and customer care. From drilling new wells to maintaining and upgrading water systems, we take pride in providing reliable solutions that keep families, farms, and businesses running smoothly.
